A note from the founder
Aratrikkaz is named after my daughter.
I’ve been a designer for over twenty years. I spent most of them dressing other people’s daughters. And then one day my own daughter outgrew the lehenga I had stitched for her sixth birthday — and I realised what I wanted to make next.
Every piece on our site is custom-stitched to your measurements and carries the name of the weaver who made the cloth. Every blouse is cut for you, not for a standard size chart.

From Banaras, on the banks of the Ganges.
On the banks of the Ganges, the looms of Banaras have been weaving silk for over five centuries. Each Banarasi saree carries a horizon of zari work — gold or silver thread spun fine enough to drape but rich enough to catch the light at any wedding from Mumbai to Melbourne.

You don’t need to be Indian to wear what we make.
You only need to be invited to a wedding, drawn to a festival, or moved by craft that takes a hundred human hands to finish. Our first-time guide explains the occasions, the garments, and how to wear them — without jargon.
