The atelier
Designed in Sydney. Made by the hands that have always made it.
A note from the founder
Aratrikkaz is named after my daughter, Aratrikka.
I’ve been a designer for over twenty years. I spent most of them dressing other people’s daughters — at their weddings, their first sangeets, the moments they would remember for the rest of their lives. And then one day my own daughter outgrew the lehenga I had stitched for her sixth birthday, and I realised what I wanted to make next.
Aratrikkaz is a luxury Indian and Indo-western atelier for women across Australia and the world. We design every piece in-house and stitch each one to your measurements — drawing on weavers across India whose names I’ve learned over two decades of working with them: in Banaras, in Lucknow, in Kanchipuram, in Kutch. Every saree we send out carries the name of the cluster where it was woven. Every blouse is cut for you, not for a standard size chart.
You don’t need to be Indian to wear what we make. You only need to be invited to a wedding, drawn to a festival, or moved by craft that takes a hundred human hands to finish. If this is your tradition, welcome home. If you’re new to it, also welcome — we’ll help you choose.
Aratrikkaz means for Aratrikka. It also means for every daughter, ours and yours.

How we work
Three things we promise.
Named-cluster sourcing.
Every piece on our site names the cluster where it was woven. Banarasi from Banaras, Kanjivaram from Kanchipuram, chikankari from Lucknow. No power-loom imitations. If we can’t name where it came from, we don’t sell it.
Custom-stitched for you.
Every blouse, every lehenga, every kurta is cut to the measurements you give us. We do not ship from a one-size-fits-most table. The lead time is real because the work is real.
Duties prepaid, worldwide.
We ship to every market with significant diaspora — Australia, US, UK, Canada, Singapore, UAE — with duties paid at our end. You should not have to fight a customs office for the right to wear what your mother wore.
