What is the difference between custom-stitched and made-to-order?

Custom-stitched means cut to your specific measurements (we ask for bust, waist, hips, and any garment-specific dimensions). Made-to-order means stitched in a standard size (XS-XXL) at the time of your order — same lead time as custom, but not measured to you specifically.

How do I take my measurements?

Save measurements to your account once and they apply to every order. We have step-by-step videos for each measurement — bust, waist, hips, blouse length, kurta length, and more. Watch them on the Size & Drape Guide.

Can I see a piece in person before buying?

For Sydney customers, yes — book an atelier visit by messaging us on WhatsApp. We work by appointment.

Do you offer wedding-party or family styling?

Yes. For multi-event family coordination (sangeet, mehendi, reception) and groomsmen/bridesmaids coordination as guests, we offer free consultation by WhatsApp. We can also create a private registry for the wedding party — see Registry.

What is the difference between Banarasi and Kanjivaram?

Both are silk saree traditions. Banarasi (Uttar Pradesh) is woven on jacquard handlooms with intricate floral and zari motifs — lighter, more ornate. Kanjivaram (Tamil Nadu) is heavier, simpler in motif, with bold contrast pallu and border woven separately and joined. Banarasi sits at the sangeet / Diwali register; Kanjivaram is more often the heirloom / temple saree.

Is the zari real silver/gold?

On our heirloom-tier pieces, yes — real silver-gilt thread, traditionally drawn. On our festive-tier, we use high-quality metallic synthetic. The product page tells you which.

Will the colours match the photos exactly?

Hand-dyed and hand-woven fabrics vary slightly piece to piece. We photograph in neutral light and try to be accurate, but assume a 5% variance. If the variation is significant when your piece arrives, message us — we’ll happily exchange or refund.

Do you ship to the United States / United Kingdom / Canada?

Yes — duties prepaid to all three. Transit is typically 5-10 business days. See Shipping for full details.

Can I order without an account?

Yes — guest checkout is available. We recommend creating an account for: saved measurements, order tracking, return initiation, and the registry system. None of which require committing to marketing email.
